Who We AreIn the 1955-56 bowling season seventeen (17) bowlers organized together with their main objective being an exclusive singles tournament for bowlers who had rolled a 700 series in league or tournament play. On May 3, 1956, the first tournament (which was a four-game event) was held at Twentieth Century Lanes and thus was the Ann Arbor 700 Club started. Our organization has grown since those humble beginnings. Last season we had 185 active members and held four tournaments including the 55th Annual Ernie Dieterle Singles Classic to honor the man who started our club. Membership InformationMembership Enrollment is open to bowlers who have bowled a 700 series in a sanctioned league or tournament and are current members of the Arbor Valley USBC Bowling Association. Membership is retained by staying current with your dues. You can get an application here. DuesDues are $5.00/year. These can be paid directly to our Pin Buoy, Joe Andrusiak, or you can mail them to him at: Ann Arbor 700 Club Note: Lifetime membership (no local dues) is granted to those members age 65 or older as of September 1, 2009. If you qualify let Joe Andrusiak know. Please don’t send dues to any other 700 Club. FinesIf you shoot a game of 260 or better and fail to reach a 700 series you, as a club member, shall have incurred a fine of $1. Should you shoot 260+ and fail to reach a 600 set that fine shall be $2. It's all done on the honor system. So when it happens to you please just roll with it and give a George Washington or two of them to a club officer. If you fail to wear your club shirt to any event it will cost you a Lincoln ($5). Hopefully, this will encourage those members that don’t want to get a new 700 Club shirt to purchase a new one. ShirtsIf you have a worn out or outgrown club shirt, you can purchase a new one for $50.00 (add $2 for XXL & $3 for XXXL or bigger). Get in touch with Joe Andrusiak to order your Official 700 Club shirt. As an added incentive, order your shirt by September 27th and we'll pay your dues for the year. MembershipAs of May 31, 2009 we have a paid up membership of 192 men and women. If you know a former member who has become inactive urge them to enter the next tournament. To become active again will cost only $10 in dues!!! Another incentive we'll try this year, recruit 4 new members and receive $20 off your entry to any one of our tournaments. ChecksPlease make checks payable to the Ann Arbor 700 Club. |
